Moving Together/Arriving Together: Decolonising Partnerships Project​ – Toolkit Creation Residency​

We invite applications from ALP Alumni artists to participate in a 2-week creation residency based on the theme Moving Together/Arriving Together: Decolonising Creative Partnerships from December 2nd – December 16th 2024.

During the residency period, artists will create 5 (five) Seeds throughout the residency period based on prompts, discussions, and emerging themes to contribute to the Moving Together/Arriving Together Digital Toolkit that will be available in the SeedPool for artists, collaborators, and organizations to access from our public gallery.

Seeds
Seeds will be responsive works that may show up in the format of sketches, rough collages, short pieces, works in progress, initial concepts, or more complete works. All Seeds will be uploaded to the SeedPool by December 16th.

Residency Format
The residency will provide artists with self-guided production time to develop Seeds as well as group collaboration sessions during which artists will share Seeds they have created. Artists participating in the residency will engage and interact with one another’s Seeds throughout the residency period.

This intensive residency requires that artists have the time and capacity throughout the residency period to participate in scheduled group sessions and to research, create, develop, produce, and upload Seeds almost daily (Monday to Friday) for both weeks of the residency.

Schedule for Group Sessions
Due to the format of the residency, all artists participating in the residency must be available for all of the group sessions below.

• 1 pre-residency meeting
  • November 28 at 9am-11am PST/12pm-2pm EST
• Group Sessions (on Zoom):
  • Monday December 2nd: 9am-11am PST / 12pm-2pm EST
  • Wednesday December 4th: 9am-11am PST / 12pm-2pm EST
  • Monday December 9th: 9am-11am PST / 12pm-2pm EST
  • Thursday December 12th: 9am-12pm PST / 12pm-3pm EST
• Monday December 16th – all pieces due

Fees
We are offering an artist fee of $2,940 to participating artists.
