As I was building this meal, Michael’s movement piece played in my head. The actions of preparing, cooking and plating brought up feelings of love, comfort and family. Growing up with a language barrier between me and my grandparents- who played a huge role in my upbringing- the preparing, offering and eating of food was how we communicated. It was how I knew I was loved. My preparing of this meal became a movement piece in itself, deeply rooted in my ancestry.
