The Moving Together/Arriving Together (MT/AT) Toolkit is a collaborative, co-created resource that is not about tips, tools and frameworks. Instead, it sets questions in motion to help us reimagine what it really means to decolonise creative partnerships in the arts. It is a reflective, experiential exploration that bears witness to the power of the Arrivals process as a creative tool for decolonisation.
Housed in our SeedPool Gallery, it is an artifact of a unique partnership between eight artists who took part in a two-week creation residency to address the following themes from their own culturally-rooted experiences: Understanding Decolonisation; Clarifying Collaborative Pathways; Creating Common Ground; Building Equitable Relationships; Capacity Building, Support and Agency; Collaborative Decision-Making and Co-Creation
Here’s a quick-fire guide on how to navigate the toolkit.
- Select a theme that speaks to you. You’ll note that each theme is accompanied by a provocation or question from the Arrivals process.
- Choose your own adventure! Explore a seed or creative provocation from one of the artists. The descriptions will invite further questions and exploration.
- Your seed will open in the SeedPool Gallery in a new tab. You can always go back to the previous tab to access the MT/AT toolkit home page.
- You can follow the artist by looking at other seeds they made, or return to the MT/AT Toolkit page in the original tab to explore another artist’s seed.
Start your journey with the MT/AT Toolkit! We’d love to hear from you.
Are there questions that arise for you? Has it sparked new ways of creatively engaging with potential partners? How does it challenge notions of capitalist modernity?
