This video was shot in two parts. The first, my feet on the shores of Balliceaux Island, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (Yuremein) where the Garifuna were imprisoned before being deported to Honduras in 1797. The second took place in Roatan, Honduras, the place of arrival after the exile.

A meditation on wellness

The Story Circle emerges as a simple exercise. The actions come first, demonstrated in a manner which suggests that it is being created on the spot. There is a preformative spirit in this offering.

This is a journal entry, a short text, stemming after a chat with Nadia Myre (ALP Co-facilitator), and submerging in the darkness and isolation of the dying body of my ancestor, Rubén Rodríguez (paternal grandfather). The inhabiting of deep suffering, fear and repulsion of oneself.
